Kids today are used to having electronic devices all the time to entertain them. So, when Thing 1 got in trouble and lost all “screen time” (TV, video games) privileges for the day, he was forced to use creativity to entertain himself. He came up with the Origami Football Helmet.
Thing 4 celebrated her 3rd birthday today! She’s been talking about her party for weeks, and loves the idea of being the center of attention.

Yes, there is one missing. Thing 3 was too nervous because he wasn’t sure if he was on the naughty list this year. He later calmed down and gave Santa his list.
The odds of getting all four kids in the same picture are low. The odds of them all looking at the camera are lower. The odds of all of them smiling even lower. The odds of them doing it while dressed in matching pajamas in front of a lit Christmas tree? Near impossible.
Thing 3 wrote this letter to Santa. He says he is nervous because he doesn’t know if he’s on the good or bad list.
“What if I’m on both lists because I’ve been good and bad?”
When we told him he can only be on one list, he really got nervous.
This one may come down to the wire.
Thing 1 is nine years old today!
He gets a full stack of pancakes for breakfast. The band aid is compliments of yesterday’s neighborhood football game.
It’s been a busy few months. Nothing new there I guess. But I’ve been a little lax in posting. Here are some pictures of what we’ve been up to recently.
We are remodeling the basement. The main purpose is to make a new bedroom for Thing 1, so he doesn’t have to share a room with his brother anymore, which will give us him some peace and quiet. It also means we are without our basement right now and all the toys are in the living room.
Halloween came and went. It’s always a lot of work fun for me. This year, we had 3 power rangers and a princess.
I even had a costume of my own this year.
Thing 1 and a friend enjoyed their 3rd grade musical performance.
We all celebrated Suburban Cousin’s Bar Mitzvah. Thing 2 celebrated more than most as you can see here.
And we spent more time with the Suburban Cousins.
