Best advice is to take the (FAA approved) car seat to be able to lock the Things into their seats… If not they want to roam the isles and go meet all of the other passengers! Also find a car seat attachment that puts your car seat on wheels to pull your Thing effortlessly through the airport!

The portable DVD player with back-up battery AND headphones (because no one wants to listen to Dora once, never mind eleventy-thousand times) was our lifesaver.

Crayons fall off the tray and get lost. Markers AND their caps, ditto. The portable DVD, even if you’re against TV in general on a day-to-day basis, is the way to go. At least in our case. I could have left the other 50 lbs. of distractions at home and just take the DVD and we would have been good.

Our preschooler will almost be 4 and our toddler will be 16 months. Thanks for the tips… I’ll just have to remember to put my husband in charge of the baby.
