It’s not just about making bears ride bicycles. To make the bear ride the bicycle, he goes through enormous amounts of cruel treatment. To entertain you.

Treatment behind the scenes tends to be poor. It’s not just what you see in the ring that’s the concern — it’s what harm is done to the animals before they get there.

If you can live with that, okay. But don’t be blind.

By the way, there are lots of circuses that don’t use animals at all. (Cirque du Soleil is one, albeit an expensive one.)

I don’t believe in animal cruelty. I can see where people could be concerned, but I see a huge difference in circus animals and dog fighting.
