When you want something so badly, there is no length you wouldn’t go, no road you wouldn’t travel, to get it. Sometimes, the end really does justify any means.
Such is the case with potty training. Thing 2 has been reasonably good with #1. Pooping, however, has been a much different story. When wearing diapers, he liked to go to his spot in the playroom and spend some “quiet time” with his castle, if you know what I mean.
To ease the transition, we’ve tried to make going on the potty as familiar to his routine as possible. So, I find myself in scenes like this. At the time, it didn’t seem like an odd thing to do. Looking at the picture now, I see it needs some bit of explanation.
Great pic, very cute! Thanks for sharing! Apparently, I used to insist my potty was as near to the bookcase as possible to be able to look at multiple picture books throughout the, ahem, process. Whatever it takes….
Hysterical!!! It is so true.. whatever it takes.. I have promised a car.. hahah
I feel your pain…..I thought we were in the green with my 3 1/2 year old, but he has proved me wrong with 2 or 3 accidents a week. (At least I see progress.) My youngest just turned two and he has told me twice this past week “I went poop,” and he runs to his bedroom fro a diaper change. I wonder if he will potty train before his older brother?
How cute! Did it work? I’m hoping we don’t have too hard a time with Suzi. We’ve got about a year of diapers left before we even start (she turns one May 30th).
Whatever works is right.
I feel your pain, going through the same drill and I’ll do anything to get him to sit on the potty. May want to take that picture down or do some photoshoping…there are sick people out there.
