Well, I made it through another Saturday.? I decided to go with the National Building Museum, which as it turns out is one of DC’s hidden gems for occupying little kids.? There really isn’t anything special in terms of exhibits.? But there is a huge open space and a kid play area called the Building Zone.
We started our day with some play dough at the kitchen table.? An activity that can only be done when SuburbanMommy isn’t home.? Sure, it gets a little messy, but they actually sat in one place for, like, 30 minutes.
Next was the Building Museum.? Thing 2 got a little impatient because it took a while to find a parking spot.? Thing 1 asked a lot of questions about the thousands of Porta-Potty’s which were still out from the inauguration.
Thing 3 fell asleep on the drive, and woke up when I pulled him from the car.? To say he is cranky when he wakes up is an understatement.? He screamed the entire 3 blocks we had to walk to the museum.? That was fun.? I got more than a few double takes from tourists as we jaywalked across the street.
He settled down once we got into the building.? Here they are in the main room, jackets still on.? Just a few days before this was site to one of the 10 official Presidential Inaugural Balls.
Oh look…a large object.? Translation: something we should climb on.
This is the Building Zone.? It’s a lot like our basement, except someone else gets to clean it up.
As you can see, there are many blocks, bricks, and sticks for building.? And some of the kids work very, very carefully to make the tallest buildings they can.? I saw many three year olds, so proud of themselves for what they’ve accomplished.? Their parents cheering on.
Until, that is, Thing 3 enters the mix.? You see, one of his true passions, along with putting his hands in the toilet, is to knock down any pile of blocks, bricks, or sticks he finds in his path.? You can imagine what happens next.
I had no idea they had stuff in there for kids! I LOVE that museum. I think you’re right – it’s underappreciated! It was a great choice for a ball.
I love their fascination with the porta potties. When you first took them to the city, didn’t they become obsessed with Street Lights, too?
Yes, street lights and the parking garage. This time, they really really wanted to park in a garage. But I’m too cheap and insisted on taking one more lap around the museum to find a street spot. It took a few laps, but I found one.
That’s a quiie-wcttkd answer to a difficult question
En ik wil de seconden terug die het mij gekost heeft deze onzin te lezen.Bepaal eerst wat je wil en kom dan nog eens terug.Oh ja, en realisme kan u veel gezever besparen
I enjoy, result in I found exactly what I used to be having a look for. You have ended my 4 day lengthy hunt! God Bless you man. Have a great day. Bye
Where do I start? The IDE is a buggy hog. ActionScript is lackadaisical and frankly disappointing. The shallow event model favors spaghetti code. Their compiler fails to get the simplest …
The genius store caledl, they’re running out of you.
